Roxann Kopischke




Roxann Kopischke moved to Alaska in 1976, and has lived in beautiful Eagle River since 1982.  She took her first painting classes in decorative/tole painting thirty two years ago and has continued to challenge herself with new mediums and styles including her most recent forays into fine art canvas painting in watercolor, acrylic and oils.  Her favorite subjects are flowers and birds.  She’s taken classes with nationally known artists Jennifer Bowman, Heidi England, Shirley Wilson, Helen Jeglic, Karen Whitworth, Mary Carole and Sandra Aubuchon, as well as local Alaskan artists Gina Murrow, Phyllis Leaf, Karen Mattson, and Andy Sonneborn. Currently Roxann belongs to two painting groups, Chugiak Eagle River Seniors, and the Valley Fine Arts Association where she has been on several committees and is Vice President.  Roxann is a retired teacher from the Anchorage School District where she taught for thirty years, twenty of those at Homestead Elementary.  She is married, has one daughter and the best friends in the world.
